Insights From Myron Jones

This is a message I got from the Holy Spirit when I was journaling my Daily Lessons. It is one of my favourite and helpful to me so I wanted to share it with you.

This day is God's. It is my gift to Him. I have been watching for those ways, both obvious and subtle, in which I am trying to lead my life. I woke up in the mood to write and definitely not in the mood to go to work. I thought of how lovely it would be if I could retire and then spend my life writing, counselling, performing weddings (which I love) and facilitating students through the ministerial courses - all things I would prefer doing over selling chemicals.

Then I remembered my purpose which is none of the things listed above. I thanked the Holy Spirit for the reminder that I am mistaken if I ever think my life would be better if only.... I remembered that my Father knows the way home, and since it is my intention to go home, all I need will be given me. My life, just as it is in every moment, is my way home. What else could I want? My preferences are only my way of thinking that I, not the Holy Spirit, know the way.

Holy Spirit, please help me recognize the gift of my life. I often overlook the many opportunities my life offers to forgive and so to undo the ego. I keep my life and my mind so busy that I finish the day and wonder why I even bothered to get up; I've not listened to Your gentle Voice once through the day. I commit to learning a different way of being in the world. I ask that You help me do this. I ask that you show me how to turn from my ego thoughts; to pay attention to the Other Voice instead.

Holy Spirit: Dear One, those days that you spend in unconscious living are rare, and even then you notice what you have done and how it feels, so that is done. Do not decide what is a success and what is a failure. This, too, is the ego trying to find a part in salvation. When you notice that you have been lost in your distractions for awhile, ask yourself how that feels. Ask yourself if that is the energy in which you wish to continue the day, or to continue the night. That is what is needed from you.

During the day when you are uncertain how to proceed, or what to say, ask what is the most helpful thing to do at this moment. Then do as you feel guided. Do not agonize over the answer. This, too, is ego joining in. When you ask for Guidance you are simply reminding yourself that you are not in charge; that you are stepping back. You have asked with the intention of being guided in all things, and the decision to do so is the decision to choose the Voice for God. Trust that decision. Release your attachment to the outcome and move on.

It is very easy while you think of yourself as a body to forget that it is all an illusion and has no real meaning. It all seems to matter so much. But I say to you, what you do in the world is of little consequence. That you be aware of the voice you are choosing to follow matters. That you be aware of where you place your value matters. That you notice the choices you make matters. You NEED do nothing, but if you would choose to make this the day you awaken from the dream, choose to be aware of your choices and to decide differently if they do not serve your awakening.

And if you do not choose to awaken today? If you choose to spend the day in unconscious ego thinking? Then so be it. You are absolutely free, you holy child of God, because that is how you were created by your Father. You are free to be loving and joyful, and you are free to choose the drama that is typically life in the illusion. You cannot do anything wrong, you only choose which experience you want; heaven or hell. Each moment offers you this choice. It matters not what you chose a moment ago because a moment ago does not exist. Only now exists. What do you choose now?

In making the choice moment to moment, you teach yourself what it is you really value. You have thought that pretending to be separate from your Creator was what you wanted. By paying attention to how that choice feels, and to the effects of that choice, you are beginning to realize that you don't really want it. In choosing to see differently, you are changing your mind about what you value.

Do you see that it does not matter what the circumstances are, or how important the moment seems, or how insignificant. The choice to choose love over rage is no more significant to the process than is the choice to choose to surrender judgment about going to work. Both are equally an opportunity to listen to the Voice for God and thereby choose heaven over hell. Your choice will either bring you a step closer to awakening or will leave you in hell. Notice what the result of your choice brings you and decide if that is what you want.

How To Heal A Split Mind

What does it mean when A Course in Miracles says that there is no order of difficulty in miracles? Wouldn't you think that a terminal illness for example would require a more complex miracle than let's say a cold? Or how about war? Wouldn't that be more difficult to solve than a mere argument with a friend?

What the Course means when it says that there is no order of difficulty in miracles is because God, or the Holy Spirit I should say, does not see any difference between illusions. The Holy Spirit sees them for what they are, illusions. So solving the illusion of let's say a terminal illness is no more difficult than solving the illusion of a cold because when you wake up from a dream, all illusions automatically disappear, the cold as well as the terminal illness. Same with war or any seeming difficulty we may be experiencing individually or collectively.

Let's go a bit deeper now. What is it that we see when we experience any seeming difficulty? What we are seeing is nothing less than a symbolic representation of the degree to which our mind is split. In other words to the degree to which our mind is experiencing separation. Mind you however that separation is not only experienced when things are going bad, it is also experienced when things are going good. Because whether you are having an argument with someone or having a good time, the fact that you see him or her as separate from you, that's still a projection, an illusion that makes you feel separate. And remember that in the kingdom of God all you can experience is Oneness.

But for the sake of this example, let's take any illusion that would make someone feel bad such as a terminal illness or human conflict, a loss of a job, a financial challenge, anything would do. Whatever it is we may be experiencing at the time is simply a symbol we are projecting that is showing us where our mind is split. That's all it is doing. So to try to solve the seeming individual problem will simply continue to promote the idea that the separation is real. In other words, all we are doing is reacting to the effect, not realizing that the reason why that effect is there is because the cause, which is our mind, is not healed. So the healing really takes place in the mind for that is the cause to all that we see.

That's why the Course reminds me, "Projection makes perception. The world you see is what you gave it, nothing more than that. But though it is no more than that, it is not less. Therefore, to you it is important. It is the witness to your state of mind, the outside picture of an inward condition. As a man thinketh, so does he perceive. Therefore, seek not to change the world, but choose to change your mind about the world. Perception is a result and not a cause. And that is why order of difficulty in miracles is meaningless. Everything looked upon with vision is healed and holy."

Forgiveness is the tool the Course suggests in order to heal the mind. As a result of practicing forgiveness, all we are doing it helping bring the mind back to oneness. From that space either three things could happen. One, we may have an experience of a symbol that seem to be more pleasant like the healing of the body or the end of that war or argument or financial prosperity. Either way, although they are still symbols, we see them for what they are without being attached to them. We can still enjoy them but they no longer have any significant influence over us. Two, although the symbols may not change, in other words, the circumstances of the world may remain the same, our perception changes because we are now experiencing what is referred to as the peace that passes understanding. From a split mind perspective this may seem like a no win situation or a least favourable one, however when we are at peace regardless of what is taking place in the world, that's when we experience real freedom. And that's really the ultimate goal because from that space we are now experiencing the condition of the Kingdom of God, leading us just one step closer to awakening. Or three, which is really the ultimate experience, we wake up from the dream where we no longer experience separation.

From my experience however, I noticed that when I find myself experiencing peace, the circumstances that were bothering me in the past seem to change to more pleasant ones. I find myself being more creative and having amazing opportunities, the difference being, before I would hang on to them, now I see them for what they are. I am not attached to them, offering them to God, while at the same time I still enjoy them. So yes, you can have an amazing experience here on earth before waking up, just as long as you see this world for what it is, nothing less than a mere illusion.

Hi guys,
Hope your travels and remembering the awakened state are going well. I had a dream last night, that you called me on the telephone and were talking about something in your life that was going on. Throughout the call, I kept bringing the conversation back to the Holy Spirit and Oneness, and realized I was healing my mind, the One Mind, while on the phone with you. Then Nouk came on and we chatted some more.

I have often thought about the night dreams, in the illusion. I believe they are of the ego, as some of them are incredibly dark. Yet, there are times, like last night, that I wake up and feel my right mind must have been operating while asleep or something. Anyway, the irony is, the dream felt so "real"...hee, hee....upon the first waking moment, I thought, was he really calling my phone? Hee, hee.

You and Nouk pop up in the One Mind for me, often. I am blessed to have had the Holy Spirit lead me to your workshop in Denver. I have been exposing and releasing a lot of shame again and it feels so darn freeing. I truly get the collective "shame" and that hiding it, keeping it private, is such a trick of the ego. I wanted to thank you, again, for holding a space for me, at the workshop, to let the "shame" rip. It was the beginning of unraveling the shame and trusting the Truth at a much deeper and more peaceful level.

I am so, so glad to know that the awakened state is and has always been, and we only have to lift the veil to remember that. Ahh. You know, so much of awakening feels like "sharing" to me. We seem to be afraid to share the deepest and most intimate egoic thoughts, because we actually believe they are "separate" and that everyone out there is going to view us "as our thoughts and experiences". What an amazing trap the ego has provided. So, by all means, share, share, share whatever you like about my e-mails or anything. I find that the more I expose myself as the ego, the faster I get to peace and freedom. I feel like one day we will all have a big "aha", and see the one ego in a flash of ridiculousness, dropping that separation. Sharing seems to offer compassion for the "one ego" choice we made, and a doorway to that which is real and waiting for us. I know all my brothers and sisters are waiting with God and to hide anything from them keeps me from God, because that is where everything and everyone exists.

Thanks for being a great reflection of the Holy Spirit, via my dream and these e-mails. Ooh-la-la. I love you guys too!
